| Global sourcing affords the opportunity to purchase quality goods and materials at significant cost savings. |
Management of the supply chain is a process which influences all other manufacturing activities. Global sourcing of those items has become a significant way of acquiring quality and technology while accomplishing cost savings. However, international sourcing activities require special attention and processes in order to be profitable. Issues such as the decision to purchase from global instead of domestic sources necessarily involve an understanding of the advantages and potential disadvantages of such transactions.
This course will provide an overview of the supply chain process. It will convey an overall knowledge of the basics of that process as well as an understanding of the unique demands of international trade as they apply to the supply chain model.
