format of the packing
list is optional. It confirms the contents of shipment as it left the
exporter’s premises and indicates the weights, measures, and count of
boxes or
cases in the shipment. It may also serve as a confirming document for a
loss or
damage claim. Freight Forwarders may use the form to verify size and
weight of
the shipment and to calculate freight rates based on those factors. The form does not take the
place of the
