CBP434 NAFTA Certificate of Origin (CBP Form)

PURPOSE AND USE

Form Profile:

Form 434 is required by U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) for imports from Mexico or Canada and for exports from the U.S. to Mexico or Canada for which the importer of record is seeking preferential tariff treatment under the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA).  Article 502 of NAFTA provides that only importers who present a valid Certificate of Origin may claim preferential tariff rates.

CBP7501 Entry Summary

PURPOSE AND USE

Form Profile:

CBP Form 7501 Entry Summary is used by U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) to establish duty rates on imported goods, record statistical data, and provide a summary of the import transaction by classification and value. Generally, imported goods are released via CBP Form 3461 (Entry/Immediate Delivery) and the Entry Summary Document follows. The Entry Summary must be presented to CBP within 10 work days of the release of the goods along with the entry documentation package. This package consists of the CBP 3461, commercial invoice, packing list copy, bill of lading and any other certificates required to determine admissability.

CBP3461 Entry/Immediate Delivery

PURPOSE AND USE

Form Profile:

CBP Form 3461 Entry/Immediate Release Delivery allows the importer or customhouse broker to gain the immediate release of imported goods. While the goods may be removed from the port of entry, the release is considered to be “conditional” until the entry package has been filed.

CBP19 Protest

PURPOSE AND USE

Form Profile:

CBP Form 19 is used by the importer to protest certain actions by Customs, related to the import of merchandise. Part 174 of the Customs Regulations allows for this alternative whenever the importer of record believes that Customs should reconsider dispositions on the import of merchandise concerning either the appraised value of the goods, liquidation of an entry, exclusion of merchandise, or refusal by Customs to pay a duty drawback claim. The Protest must be submitted within 90 days after a demand for payment or notice of liquidation has been received from Customs. The Form CBP 19 must be submitted in quadruplicate to the Customs Port Director whose decision is being protested.

CBP3311 Declaration for Free Entry of Returned American Products

PURPOSE AND USE

Form Profile:

CBP Form 3311 is used by the importer to claim duty free privilege for the return of goods of  United States origin which were previously exported from the U.S. The goods may not have been previously exported under the benefit of a drawback program, must be wholly of U.S. origin, and may not have been advanced in value or improved in condition by any process while outside of the U.S.

CBP3495 Application for Exportation of Article under Special Bond

PURPOSE AND USE

Form Profile:

CBP Form 3495 is used for the export of articles previously entered into the U.S. temporarily and without the payment of duty. This would include articles entered under a Temporary Importation Bond (TIB) and may also include articles entered under the benefit of a carnet. The exporter must assure and verify that the Temporary Importation Bond, if used,  is properly closed at exportation. Failure to do so will result in severe penalties and liquidated damages assessed by Customs.

CBP4455 Certification of Registration

PURPOSE AND USE

Form Profile:

CBP Form 4455 is used to register articles and defer payment of duty on articles which will be exported temporarily and  subsequently returned to the U.S. . The articles may be either for personal use while abroad, being sent for repair or alteration, or of foreign origin which will be returned unaltered or not advanced in condition. Duty deferral is determined by Customs upon re-importation with the Form 4455 submitted as proof of registration of the goods prior to temporary export. Costs of any foreign alterations, repairs, or processing of the goods if applicable are subject to customs duties on return of the goods to the U.S.

I-95 Crewman's Landing Permit

Customs In-bond Warning Label

PURPOSE AND USE

Form Profile:

U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) requires that merchandise moving in-bond within the Customs Territory of the United States be prominently labeled to indicate in-bond status.  This label indicates that the merchandise is under bond and must be delivered intact and untampered to the CBP officer in charge at the port of destination for entry processing.
