Purpose and Use:
This document was used for compiling U.S. trade statistics and for export control purposes. As of June 2, 2008 filing of export information must be completed through the Automated Export System (AES). The paper Shipper's Export Declaration (SED) remains an excellent worksheet to assemble the information and to convey it to a freight forwarder or other party doing electronic filing.

Common Errors to Avoid:
- Block 1.b. – Omit USPPI’s EIN
- Block 4.a. and 4.b. – Confuse Ultimate and Intermediate Consignee
- Block 20 Col. 20 – Omit appropriate Domestic (D) , Foreign (F), or Foreign Military Sales (M) designator
- Block 20 Col. 22 – Enter incorrect Schedule B Number
- Block 20 Col. 24 – Shipping wgt. Not converted from pounds to kilograms.
