Customer has been using demo version and entering real data. Now purchases production version and wants to know if data can be transferred from demo to production version.
A. The following appears to work when a customer has been using the demo version then purchases a production version if the user has saved real data while testing out the demo and doesn't want to lose the data.If all the data entered into demo was just junk and user does not want to keep any of it, then Steps 6 - 9 are all that a user needs to do.
Q. USER DOES NOT ENTER SECURITY CODE WITHIN 30 DAYS OF INSTALLATION. What happens?
A. At 15 days after installation, each time user launches the
application the security code registration window pops up. Between 15 and 30 days the user can
enter nothing, click on "CANCEL" and the application will continue to function. From day 31 and
onward each time user launches the application the security code registration window pops up.
If no security code has ever been received and entered then when user clicks on either "OK" or
"CANCEL" the application will shut itself down and not be functional. When a user finally does
enter the correct security code, the clicks on "OK", application will be fully functional and user
will never see registration window again.
Q. PRINTING THE IATA DANGEROUS GOODS DECLARATION. How does user get the required red hash marks down the sides of the form?
A. There are two ways to do this. If the user has a color
printer go to the UnzExport Main Menu and click on "Additional User Functions" button. At the next
screen click on "User Preferences" button. The next screen will provide the user with the ability to
(1) be prompted to place special paper stock into a non-color printer or (2) to select a color printer
from which the IATA declaration will print.
If a color printer is available and selected, the application will create the required
red hash marks down each side of the form. If no color printer is available, the user can obtain from
Unz & Co. a supply of laser bond paper stock that is pre-printed with the required red hash marks. The
part number for this is Catalog Number A30-061L IATA Special laser bond sheets 500/pkg.
A. User runs SETUP.EXE and application does its search and update of files. It then tells user to reboot system to complete installation. User does this and again runs SETUP.EXE. Rather than completing the install process, the application again does the file search/update routine. This is an endless process. This is an inherent problem with WIN 2000 operating system. User must go to Microsoft's website and download (free of charge) Service Pak 4 for Windows 2000. Once this service pack is installed on user's computer, UnzExport will install properly and completely.
Q. USER AT PRINT/SEND FORMS SCREEN, SELECTS FORMS TO PRINT AND CLICKS ON "PRINT/SEND BUTTON". RECEIVES ERROR MESSAGE INSTEAD OF FORMS BEING PRINTED.A. User must go to Additional User Functions screen, then click on "User Preferences" button. Make sure that the printer showing in the selection window is the one that user wants to print to. If not, click on "Browse Printers" button; select the correct printer, then click on "Use Printer Selected" button.
Q. USER SELECTS GENERAL (STANDARD) CERTIFICATE OF ORIGIN. ATTEMPTS TO PRINT THE FORM AND RECEIVES ERROR MESSAGE THAT FORM CANNOT PRINT BECAUSE NO PRODUCTS WERE SELECTED.A. User must go to Master Data Entry / Product Maintenance. Within the Product Maintenance input screen there is a box that asks user to enter a "D", "F", or "M". User must insure for any product that must appear on a General (Standard) Certificate of Origin a "D" has been placed in this data field. The "D" must be included in the data record for each product that users wants to see on this particular certificate of origin.
